We have developed a novel photolatent base with outstanding handling properties.

We have shown that this new photocatalyst can be used to perform reactions beyond simple crosslinking of a formulations, such as the concomitant production of nanoparticles in the resin matrix[1] [2]

or the reduction of graphene oxide to graphene evenly distributed in the polymer, resulting in conductive coatings.[3]

In the development of a novel class of vitrimers, the latent catalyst can be first used as a thermal catalyst for the polycondensation of the vitrimer network. In a next reaction step, image-wise irradiation liberates the strong base that is capable of catalyzing the spatially resolved photoactivation of dynamic transesterification reaction ing in vitrimeric polymers.[4]
